True to our Spa Philosophy of making nature an integral part of your spa and relaxation experience, all therapies in the Grand Spa take place in one of our 11 outdoor bungalows and at our open manicure / pedicure stations. The aim is to bring to your Spa experience the fresh air and smells of the rainforest along with the soothing murmurings of the hot springs blending with sounds from animals in the rainforest and the occasional rumble from the Arenal Volcano. When it rains, the sounds of raindrops and the wind provide a comforting and calming effect as well.
Tabacon's open air Spa bungalows are designed for individual or couples' therapies. All materials are natural with roofs made of palm leaves, and caña brava, a local wild shrub similar to bamboo, covering the ceiling. The structure is made of local woods, as is the floor.
Each bungalow features two side-by-side treatment beds with working space for up to four therapists, if guests wish to have four-handed massages in tandem. All bungalows have a thermal spring-fed tub for two, with a granite top and a flower and garden wall.
Many of our luxury Spa packages include 30-minute balneotherapy in these outdoor tubs, the perfect ending to a relaxing spa session and for enjoying a time for peace and privacy.
Landscaping around the bungalows allows for complete privacy while providing a beautiful outdoor experience. While guests prepare for their spa treatments, therapists stand guard outside the bungalow to ensure complete seclusion. Your Costa Rica Spa vacation can be enjoyed with the sounds of nature, or with soft music played. Towels can be heated to your liking throughout the session.
Spa treatments including massages, body scrubs and wraps become especially relaxing and rejuvenating when enjoyed outdoors. But other signature services such as facial treatments, reflexology and Thai massages become an unforgettable event in our bungalows.
