During the Canyoning Tour you will trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. Along the way you will have the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon. This is one of the top tours and activities in the Arenal Volcano region, near Tabacon Grand Spa.
Your trip begins with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside the town of La Fortuna de San Carlos that will bring you to the ranch house. There, you will receive a safety talk, put your gear on, and then embark on a short trek to the top of the first waterfall where you will start the descent.
From the first waterfall you will rappel down from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below, the adventure includes five rappels ranging in height from 60 meters to 25 meters, four of which are along waterfalls and one dry rock face.
Canyoning or Canyoneering is not just a rappel from a bridge or a waterfall it is moving through a canyon using various techniques. Therefore during your visit you will experience 2 techniques: rappelling and hiking on trails in the canyon. Then just a short trek out of the canyon, jump in the vehicles and head back to the base camp.
