Meet your guide at the hotel to start with a brief drive to the lower Penas Blancas River to enjoy a 2 hours floating trip (slow rafting expedition). Just 20 minutes away from the town of La Fortuna de San Carlos you can enjoy the sights and the sounds of the rainforest and experience its peacefulness while you paddle down the Penas Blancas River.
This relaxing trip takes you on through rainforest and beautiful scenery where you will have the opportunity to find monkeys, sloth, iguanas, tortoises, crocodiles and numerous bird species. Because the boat does not use a motor, you can enjoy the journey quietly rowing and taking pictures without disturbing the animals.
During the tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide, who will explain many fascinating details about trees, plants, birds, and other animals. You will truly appreciate the wonders of Peñas Blancas River and the surrounding rainforest while you travel down the river enjoying a journey quietly rowing. The return trip to La Fortuna will allow you to see the extensive agriculture farming of San Carlos County and Costa Rica Northern Region, where crops include yucca (cassava), papaya, pineapples and orange trees.
