Policies Before You Arrive:

  • We recommend booking spa treatments and restaurant reservations in advance to ensure availability. 
  • Check-in: 3:00 p.m. 
  • Check-out: 12:00 p.m. (Late check-out subject to additional charges.) 
  • Hotel guests enjoy complimentary access to the thermal experience and Shangri-La Gardens (18+). 
  • Hot springs access is available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 
  • All guest rooms and suites are non-smoking. 
  • Our thermal springs are in a natural environment; for safety, water shoes are strongly recommended. 
  • The rate confirmed at booking reflects the best available rate at that time. 

Reservation Policies 

  • Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa provides written confirmations only. 
  • A valid credit card is required at booking. The first night deposit will be charged as guarantee; the remaining balance is charged at check-in. 
  • The same credit card must be presented upon arrival. 
  • Reservation modifications or cancellations must be submitted in writing; requests cannot be processed by phone or through the website. 
  • Modified reservations will be subject to the published rates for the new travel dates. 
  • In accordance with Costa Rica’s Smoke-Free Environment Law 9028, smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor areas of the hotel, spa, and resort. 
  • Tabacón communicates only through official email addresses ending in @tabacon.com. We do not request payments or reservations through third-party bank accounts. 
  • A valid passport, ID, or residency card is required at check-in. (Driver’s licenses are not accepted as primary ID.) 

  Cancellation Policies 

  • Early departures will incur a one-night penalty. 
  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing. 
  • 15+ days before arrival: no penalty. 
  • 14 to 1 day before arrival: one-night penalty per room. 
  • Holiday periods (Easter Week, Christmas, and New Year’s – December 18 to January 9): 
  • Cancellations made within 90 days prior to arrival incur a 100% penalty. 
  • No-Shows: 
  • Stays of 2–3 nights: 1-night penalty per room 
  • Stays of 4+ nights: 2-night penalty per room 

  Children Policies 

  • Children 0–5 years stay free when sharing the room with two adults. 
  • Children 6–11 years pay the designated child rate when sharing the room with two adults. 
  • 12+ years are charged the regular adult rate.
