Whether you come to Tabacon as a day visitor or you are our guest in one of our luxury hotel rooms enjoying your Costa Rica vacation, there are some suggestion and policies that we kindly ask you to observe.
- Tabacon hot springs are open from 10 am to 10 pm for day visitors and from 8 am to 10 pm for hotel guests.
- Staying in the thermal pools for more than 15 minutes at a time could lead to dehydration, low blood pressure, nausea and fainting, as our body temperature is lower than the water temperature.
- It is extremely important to be very aware while in the river, as currents vary.
- For safety reasons we do not recommend that children under the age of 12 enter the waterfall areas.
- To properly enjoy the pools, we recommend wearing bathing suits and water shoes, as areas can be slippery.
- Enjoy the natural hot springs with caution, keep your head above water, do not dive or splash.
- We recommend that you wait at least one hour after eating before entering the hot springs.
- Pregnant women should consult with their doctor about bathing in thermal pools.
- Those who have suffered a heart attack or who suffer from hypertension should consult with their physician before using the thermal water facilities.
- In case of thunderstorms or rain, please take precautions or ask for instructions.
- In case of an emergency, follow the instructions of Tabacon staff members.
- Adults must supervise their children at all times in all resort areas.
- Trespassing beyond property limits is strictly prohibited.
- Food or beverages purchased outside Tabacon, may not be brought into the resort.
- Glass bottles or containers may not be brought into the property.
- Running in the common areas and jumping or diving into the pools is not allowed.
- Guests must exercise caution when walking in the common areas, as the grounds may be wet.
- Exercise caution when walking in the rivers as the river stones may be slippery or sharp.
- Older adults should remain in the company of a designated family member while at the hot springs.
- Plants or animals may not be removed from the hot springs and garden areas.
- Photographs are not allowed in the Spa area at Tabacon.
- Personal photography and videos are allowed in the resort. However, no photos or videos may be taken of other guests without their consent.

- Aerial drone and unmanned aircraft use in the hotel, spa and resort area is not permitted. The use of this equipment requires a previous formal approval from the management, and it is controlled as per Costa Rican Civil Aviation regulations.
- All adults and children must wear the admission bracelet to the hot springs, which indicates to staff that you are a guest of the resort. Trespassing is not tolerated.
- Smoking in all public places, be it indoors or outdoors, is strictly prohibited.
- Shangri-La Gardens is available exclusively to hotel guests, ages 18 and up.
- Pets are not allowed.

Tabacon maintains policies to fight any type of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents and supports the Law # 7899 that sanctions this type of human exploitation, as we consider that sexual exploitation of human beings violates the fundamental objective of tourism. Tabacón will terminate immediately any contract with a company that in one way or another contributes to facilitating or promoting sexual exploitation. Additionally, we reserves the right to cancel reservations to passengers or guests with inappropriate conduct, or that as a result of his/her conduct may disturb or affect services to other customers.
